Pictures don't lie, but they can hardly do justice to the charm and comfort of this adorable cottage. This is where The Three Bears would go on vacation if they could because everything is just right. It should come with a warning label: "Caution!!! Due to high levels of cuteness, you may never want to make the short drive to Nashville to see Vince Gill in concert or go hiking along the Natchez Parkway like you planned. May cause extreem dissatisfaction in women with their decor at home. Side effects may include an irrational desire to rip up carpets, paint floors, visit flea markets and sew slipcovers." It will also spoil you forever for other vacation rentals because they couldn't possibly top this one, unless it is one of the other four properties that Sarah and Michael own. We may have to try one of those the next time we are in the area. We saw two great concerts in Nashville, had a fabulous dinner in Franklin (The Cork and Cow) but our favorite place for pure, kick back and relaxed country charm was nearby Leiper's Fork. -"Goldielocks"
Everything about this home is exactly as advertised. In a word, it is FANTASTIC. The home itself is lovely, cozy, and leaves you wanting to come back the moment you leave. You'll constantly think "I would love to live here", unlike the "it's just a house" sense that you sometimes get when renting other "vacation homes". The beauty of the surrounding countryside is breathtaking. Middle Tennessee is loaded with much to do, and if you are a history buff then the history of Franklin, Tennessee is an absolute must. All of this is well within an easy drive from the property. Bottom line: you can't go wrong with this one! -Jeff, Michigan
Historic moment for our family. It was our inaugural men's Spiritual retreat. We searched for a location, but Farmhouse in the firm we found to be the perfect environment for this scared occasion. My father & 2 brothers drove from IL, 1 brother flew in from VA, and the other from TX and my oldest nephew flew in from LA. The pictures on the website were beautiful but being here was breath taking. We were very impressed with how well maintained the property was, the spaciousness, and surrounding serenity of nature. We enjoyed ourselves beyond our expectations and have decided that our 2nd annual retreat should be a repeat. God has blessed your mission to open your home for others to enjoy and to encounter His creation. - Patrick, TN
It's always nervewrecking to stay somewhere you've only seen in pictures on the Internet. Thankfully, it was everything I hoped for and more. The location was great! It felt secluded but we were minutes to downtown Leipers Fork for anything we could possibly need and Franklin's downtown was an easy and scenic drive. The house was exactly as the pictures portrayed but were pleasantly surprised by some of the details that the owners took care to make us feel welcomed. It had everything we needed! Even a pack-n-play. The house was perfectly clean and taken care of. The owner and property manager were available for recommnedations and were so nice and helpful. We have already rounded up our friends and are making plans to come back in 2014! Puckets in Leipers Fork was our favorite spot to hangout. Downtown Franklin had great restuarants and shopping. We miss our time there especially fishing and relaxing on the front porch. We can't wait to go back! - Anonymous
My husband surprised me with a three night stay at the Storybook Cottage - I must admit that the second we turned down the driveway I knew this property was special. The fabulous brick walkway and the outdoor lighting set the scene and the interior, I don't know where to start. It is so warm, welcoming and romantic and on top of that impeccably decorated! Wow! I walked through the entire house in awe and so happy that my husband choose this place for us to stay! Lucky me! Besides an evening out at Puckett's and stopping by the market for groceries, we didn't leave the house and enjoyed every moment that we spent there. This place is out of a storybook and we will be back! Over and over and over!
I loved the drive down the private entrance, surrounded by trees. The house is charming and full of character. I loved looking out of every window. My boys were able to go fishing in the pond with my husband - they caught five fish in thirty minutes! During our stay here we played catch and paddle ball outside. We loved Pucketts and enjoyed dancing there one night as a family. Franklin was beautiful. I will miss sitting on the front porch. So many small details that were greatly appreciated. We look forward to coming back. -Matt
Where do you begin to tell of a home that is a bit of heaven on earth! We can't sing enough praises for the Farmhouse....whether for a family vacation, girls trip or romantic getaway, this home will be the perfect fit. Everything needed is provided so thoughtfully. You can choose to stay all day on the porch (of which we did a few times) or drive the short, scenic distance to either Leiper's Fork, Natchez Trace or Franklin for a trip back in time. At the end of the day though, you will welcome the sight at the home at the end of the drive, the sounds & sights of wildlife all around, and the peace that pervades as soon as you walk through the door. Truly outstanding!! - Julie, Kansas City
You will NOT be disappointed! We had an absolutely wonderful experience! The house is absolutely well-kept, extremely clean, beautiful, peaceful and serene. The house is beautifully furnished. The kitchen is spacious and well-laid out. Everything we needed to cook and serve meals was there waiting for us....we just had to bring the food! We used only the master bedroom and found the mattress and sheets to be just perfect and incredibly comfortable. We have absolutely no complaints about the property and feel very lucky to have found it! The best part for us was the absolute seclusion. We strolled around the property, sat on the hammock that had a beautiful view of the pond, roasted s'mores and cooked hotdogs in the outdoor fireplace, drank in the country night air, listening to the sound of nature. We saw a large buck a few times crossing through the property. We explored the town of Leiper's Fork and found it very charming and the people very helpful and kind. There was nothing we needed that wasn't readily available. Despite the feeling of privacy and seclusion, we still felt like it was easy to get back in touch with civilization, there are restaurants and stores just 5 minutes away. We are absolutely AMAZED by this property and will be telling all of our friends about it. Sarah was absolutely WONDERFUL to us and we will not hesitate to say here again. This was a unique, joyful and serene experience. We will be back! -Mike, Danvers, MA
My family and I had the pleasure of spending a week in this warm, welcoming home and enjoyed every minute! Really felt like home! It is outstanding! Very clean. Gorgeous decorating and setting. Stocked with everything you need for a fabulous vacation. We had several fun days planned in Nashville and our kids actually asked "Can we just go back to the house?" The owner was so helpful and friendly. Made great recommendations on places to visit. The town is darling. Wonderful people. Loved having our morning coffee on the front porch swing watching deer and listening to the birds and frogs serenade us. The kids loved playing by the pond, exploring outside, puzzles, board games and pool table inside. Perfect for reading, writing and relaxing. We're usually ready to head back home after a week but not this time. None of us wanted to leave. Ready to pack our bags and move there. The only problem was that it came to an end. Would highly recommend it and will definitely be back. Absolutely heavenly! Thank you so much for a trip that we won't forget. -Cathy, Illinois
We had the privilege of staying at Brigadoon this past week. Michael and Sarah have created the perfect retreat for their guests after a day of sightseeing and driving around Nashville. We arrived with our two teenagers and enjoyed 4 nights with comfortable beds, hot showers, nooks to hide out with a good book (and there are tons of good books in that house...be sure to check out the one with all the dog photographs in it...), and best of all we were able to save $$ by eating all our breakfasts at the house as well as a couple dinners. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything and everything you could possibly need to make a meal...right down to an old-fashioned juicer for homemade orange juice (the way my son prefers to make his...no fancy juicer needed). It is THE perfect location to be close enough to the hubbub that is Franklin and Nashville, but far enough that you can enjoy the peace of the beautiful countryside. We drove around Franklin and saw the various chain hotels they offer, went to the Gaylord in Nashville just to say we'd been there and toured the facility and when we returned to quiet Brigadoon that evening, my husband said, "I'm really glad we stayed here." I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Brigadoon to friends and family traveling to Nashville. - Anonymous
Thank you, thank you for your wonderful home! We've been looking forward to this trip for months and it truly exceeded our expectations. The house was just beautiful, steeped with such history, a true walk back in time. What a wonderful neighborhood, such a beautiful street and just a few minutes walk to town. There was something for everyone in the family- the boys stopped by the Civil War sites and I took the girls shopping down Main Street and we all spent an afternoon at Carnton Plantation. We even found time to explore the area and stumbled upon Leiper's Fork- what a cute town! Also, thanks for your recommendations of Puckett's and Mellow Mushroom, our family never went hungry! We can't recommend this vacation rental enough and we'll certainly be back to this wonderful home. An "A+" from this wife and mother of three. - Mary
We fell in love with this property the moment we drove in! The scenery was beautiful and the home was adorable. We loved the live music Puckett's Grocery had to offer which was only minutes away. We drove to Franklin and enjoyed the spectacular views along the way. House was clean and cozy! Our only wish was that we could have stayed longer and we would be happy to stay here again on our next TN visit! Amazing home and property!!! - Anonymous, Indiana
